One letter is in German. Included are a printed notice of a meeting of the Genetical Society (Darlington was Secretary), 1931, and a newspaper cutting of job advert for Director of the John Innes Horticultural Institution, 1938.

The correspondence mostly relates to aspects of William Bateson's career. Included are some pages of quotations in Beatrice Bateson's hand, some from published works and lectures of William Bateson, which were found with one of the letters. One letter is in German.
