Part of WILLIAM BATESON ARCHIVE

Large volume used for recording plant-breeding experiments. Contains pencil notes: entries in the hands of Bateson and his colleagues. Sketches sometimes accompany the notes. Parts of the book are in the form of a log; other entries list seeds or seedlings received. Foliated '1-158'; not all pages used. An index to the contents is at the front (before the foliated pages begin). 26 letters to Bateson, dated 1913-1925, are pasted into the volume in various places. (4217-4245). Many of the correspondents appear to have sent seeds to Bateson for cultivation. Some further pages of notes, photographs and, occasionally, printed matter are also found pasted in.
