Copies of correspondence of N.I. Vavilov, chiefly with Bateson, 1924. Included is brief later correspondence with Sir Daniel Hall and Gregory Bateson (Bateson's son).

5pp manuscript notes by Bateson, headed 'Vaviloff [sic] 2 Feb. 1914' on first page; two further pages of notes on small pieces of paper (topics unclear). Included is a photocopy of an incomplete and undated letter from Beatrice Bateson, recipient unknown.

Correspondence to Bateson from N.I. Vavilov, 1915-1925, re various matters including his visit to Afghanistan in 1925, and Bateson's planned visit to Russia in 1925. One letter, 1915, is pasted into a 1927 reprint by Vavilov (in German). There is also a photocopy of this letter. One letter only from Catherine Vavilov to Bateson, 1925.
