Part of WILLIAM BATESON ARCHIVE

This material consists almost entirely of Bateson's manuscript notes, on miscellaneous topics, which had not previously been arranged into any subject catagories. Only a few pages have obvious and legible headings or titles which are reproduced in the following descriptions. The majority of the notes relate to published literature; some could be connected with experiments (some data is included). A small quantity are not in Bateson's hand and a few printed items, found among the notes, are included. The arrangement of the papers in the following descriptions corresponds to the individual envelopes or files in which they were found. Some of these were inscribed 'Miscellaneous' or 'Misc' etc by previous archivists. Some papers, as indicated, were found in books in Bateson's library.
