Corrected proof.
Cuttings and photocopied articles and pages from various publications. All contain reference to Bateson, including citations of his published works. Included is a photocopy of a printed letter from T.H. Huxley to Bateson, 1894, acknowledging Bateson's book, 'On Variation'.
The letter is in reply to a query and provides details of Bateson's remunerations arising from his fellowship at the College, 1885-1910.
The correspondents are friends, colleagues and others in the Cambridge and scientific communities. Most are letters of congratulation. Included are a few letters to Beatrice Bateson discussing the appointment. At A.30 is a list of the correspondents by A.G. Cock.
Three (in A.34) are of Bateson: in one of these he is standing underneath a large bust of Mendel. The remaining 5 photographs feature various exhibits and persons. Also in A.34 are the following: a photograph featuring N. N. Ladygina-Kohts and A.E. Kohts (Alexander Erich (or Fyodorovich) Kohts) At A.35 is a photograph featuring Basil (Vasily) Vatagin at work. Some are inscribed on the back: one inscription is in Bateson's hand, the others are probably in Beatrice Bateson's hand. It is unclear whether all the photographs, apart from those featuring Bateson, were taken during his 1925 visit.
