      Note

Admin History: (JEEM) was established in 1953, published by the Company of Biologists, with its centre of gravity initially at University College London and later in Cambridge. Apart from being an important journal, particularly in the area of vertebrate embryology, biennial JEEM conferences were held from the mid-fifties, arranged to coincide with an annual meeting of the editorial board of the journal. Some of these were in the United Kingdom and some in other European centres. JEEM became Development in 1987 under the editorship of Chris Wylie.
